Sam plummeted/fell/crashed to the ground with a loud/sharp/painful thud/sound/crash.

His New Friend

Sam was feeling a little down. He wished to have a new friend to play with. One day, while he was exploring in the yard, he saw something unusual. It was a little being with bright fur. Sam quietly walked over to the creature and spoke, "Hello! What's your name?" The creature grinned and answered Sam, "You can call me Lily!" And so, Sam made a new mate. They spent the rest of the day laughing together.

Sam was so happy to have found a new friend. He knew that he and Lily would be close buddies forever.
